Symptoms of Sinus Infections Revealed
I was sneezing throughout my younger years and didn’t know what hit me. My school nurse told me that I had a cold. Whatever the school nurse told me, I believed in. In fact, I didn’t even tell my parents until sometime later. I would either have a stuffy nose or my nose would be draining like the pouring rain.
By the age of 10, I started to question what the nurse had told me. “Do cold actually last years,” I asked myself. I decided to get another opinion from another school nurse. She told me that I was actually allergic to something and that I didn’t have a cold.
I asked my parents about getting allergy medicine from the supermarket. They never used it before and had no clue. My parents went to the supermarket I bought the drowsy kind. I could recall that my eight grade teacher put me aside and asked me if I was consuming illegal drugs and wanted to talk to my parents.
That was the start of my sinus problems. I’m about to describe 2 kinds of sinus infections (aka sinusitis). Acute and chronic are the 2 kinds of sinus infections.
Here’s are the symptoms:
Symptoms of Acute Sinus Infection
* Mucus drainage down the back of the throat
* Fever is common
* Facial pain or soreness
* Pressure around the sinus cavities
* Nasal discharge
* Vision problems
* Headaches
* Nasal congestion
* Pain behind the eyes
Symptoms of Chronic Sinusitis
* Prolonged facial pain
* Pressure across or above your nasal passages
* Prolonged headaches
* Chronic sore throat
* Chronic nasal discharge
* Toothaches
* Bad breath
* Pain below the eyes
How Long Will I Have These Sinus Problems?
You can see many similarities between the two. The main difference is how long they occur and the severity of the symptoms. Acute sinus infections can last for several weeks. You can have chronic symptoms off and on throughout the year.
